The Opportunity

The Institute for Safety Compensation and Recovery Research (ISCRR) is a joint venture between Monash University, WorkSafe Victoria (WSV) and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). ISCRR's mission is to develop, execute and translate the highest quality research which helps the TAC and WSV to optimize their outcomes and those of their clients.

As the Research Manager, you will play a key role in turning research concepts and priorities into research projects with a strong focus on practical translation and implementation. You will be part of a team working closely with external stakeholders, researchers, system members and users, collaborating to achieve positive, substantial impact on the TAC, WSV and their clients through high-quality research. You will have a particular focus on guiding researchers internal to ISCRR  as well as leveraging funds including grants, industry and government partnerships.

While a strong understanding of research methodology and familiarity with ISCRR content areas would provide a firm foundation, this role does not conduct formal research. 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • research development, management and translation to support TAC and WSV achieve their goals
  • building and maintaining strong external and internal relationships and networks to foster a collaborative approach
  • working with researchers and data analysts to maximise their outputs and impact.

If you have demonstrable experience in research development, project/program management and translation, with a strong understanding of the academic research environment and/or data heavy research. you are encouraged to apply.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion and relationship skills are essential.

This role is a full-time position with significant researcher and client facing activities in both Melbourne and Geelong.
